Summertime Fun

Yes, Jay is growing corn in his garden.

Gnawing on some TART rhubarb from Jay's garden... and he gnawed through the whole thing. You'd think I don't feed the kid.

More good times in Rockford

Em & Luke stopped in town on their way to Galena, so we got to see them for the second time in a few weeks!

Dinner with Grandma Jan & Grandpa Dan

I was excited to see two of my best girlfriends from high school... Breah and I planned to get together knowing that we were going to be in town at the same time, but didn't know Mel was even in the country.  I was chatting with some friends on the Tuck's front lawn, and Mel and her mom drove by and saw us... a random coincidence. What a great surprise! So all three of us got together for coffee on Tuesday. We had a great time catching up, and Trey and sweet little Jairus got to play together!

4th of July

Trey and I went to Rockford to see the family for the 4th of July, and Jay surprised us by showing up at the last minute! We had a great time.

What's the 4th of July without a snowcone?

Paging Dr. Tuck!

Katie & Andy sent us some adorable scrubs for Trey when he was born (embroidered with "Dr. Tuck"), and Jay found a little doctor kit at a garage sale... I've been waiting to take this picture for a long time! (I made Jay pose with Trey when he got home this morning from overnight call... sorry, Jay.)

And I found out I can't tell Trey to say "Cheese" for a picture. It doesn't make for a good photo.

Visitors

Luke & Em came down to see us last week, we had such a great time going to the pool, garage sale-ing (Luke's a good sport), and hanging out on the front porch. We can't wait to see them again!

Vacay

This month we went to Florida with Hazen & Carol and Katie, Andy, Sam & Lily, and stayed at Katie's parents' gorgeous house on the beach. We had a great time hanging out by the ocean every day... I loved it. We were excited to meet sweet, beautiful Lily for the first time!  Trey loved baby Lily, and has been doing the sign for 'baby' all the time since we've been home.

She looked great in her swimming suit!

Trey had lots of firsts on this trip...

First time sleeping between mom & dad (no cribs left at the hotel... of course):

First time on a plane:

First time in the sand:

and first time in the ocean:

It's always great entertainment to be around kids (or Tuck brothers) as they interact... lots of that on our trip.

Weekend

Trey and I went to a baby shower on Saturday, and he came home with two balloons. This is how he looked all weekend, he wouldn't let go of either of his "bah-os"!  They were sagging behind him today, so it looked like he was walking two pet balloons.

Today was such a gorgeous day! Trey let go of his balloons long enough to help me wash the car,

eat a juicy peach,

and hose off all the stickiness.

Looks like it's gonna be a great summer!

Rainbow? Please?

The basement flooded again. It always (well, twice) floods when Jay is on call, too. So I get to deal with it. This time I thought it might be coming though, so I got everything off the floor. Still not fun to clean up. Plus, the basement smells like dirty cat (ugh) for a week after flooding, for some weird reason. We have GOT to do something about this.

I let Trey play in my beads just to keep him occupied while I finished. I don't think he ate too many.

Weekend fun

Jay was home this weekend - it was fantastic. He took Trey with him on a 6 mile run yesterday (ugh!), so I took a nap in the backyard. Loved it.

We had Pizza Hut on Saturday (a new fave of the boys in the fam),

and grilled out on Sunday. Trey had fun playing outside (pants-less) when he was supposed to be in bed.

Burgers & Beanbags

We decided it was 'bout time for a cookout, so we had one last weekend. It was a blast.

Hostile Takeover

I'm here!

Yes, hostile takeover at TuckPorch. I (Katie) am taking over this blog. 'Cause I like the name, mainly. And Jay will contribute occasionally. When I allow him to. (Kidding).
